ATTN: avid sewer raccoon readers and many others

It was raining the night of the aforementioned Knights of Pythias meeting last week. We placed the original water-color embellished Wallace Poem along with the entire book and our wand inside a plastic sheath to keep all dry in transit from the car to the lodge hall.

The highly recommended poetry book is called Long for This World and is obtainable through the University of Pittburgh Press, www.pitt.edu/~press.

poem of blessing

This poem by UW professor Ronald Wallace was ruminated upon during the raccoon news' recent writer's strike. You may have seen it before in these offices or elsewhere, but it bears repeating.

The editor read it to his Knights of Pythias lodge last week during The Good of the Order time in his position as The Prelate, who gives invocations, benedictions, and renders matters of spiritual guidance.
